Capacity Assessment Services

What is a Capacity Assessment?

A capacity assessment is a formal assessment of a person's mental ability to make decisions. A capacity assessor gets involved when a person appears to be mentally incapable and at serious risk of harm.

The process includes:

  • information gathering about the person’s situation, including a review of medical and financial records
  • completion of a personal interview
  • preparation of report and required forms
  • filing and delivery of documents
